Our Greyhounds – Meet Uno

Uno is a stunning, brindle sweet, playful girl. She does not like sudden movements, and can be timid and nervous when approaching new people and situations. Uno would do best in a calm, patient household, with adults only, or older, mature children, where she can get used to her surroundings on her terms and settle into new experiences slowly.

Once Uno acclimates to her routine and surroundings, she is very affectionate and playful. She loves to play with toys and shares well with her foster siblings. She will place her head in her foster dad's hand as he walks, or give a little head bow and front paw raise while wagging her tail when he returns to the house from being out or in the yard.

Uno is great in the car and on lead. She loves to go for walks. She is food motivated as well, and will steal food from pack mates, if allowed, but does not guard on her own.

Uno is good with other mature greyhounds and larger dogs. She may prefer male dogs to female dogs. She does not care much for very high energy, busy dogs.

Uno does like her own space, at times, and may do best to be given space when she is sleeping, as she has shown signs of a slight sleep startle a few times in her foster home. She is quiet in a crate when her foster dad leaves the house.

Uno is looking for a loving family that can respect her desire for a consistent routine and surroundings, and a slow introduction to new experiences. She will be a wonderful, playful, affectionate companion, given the right environment in which to settle in and thrive.
